Trunk Fix Kit is a kit of parts for Theatre of Magic that upgrades your Eddy Sensors and incorporates a fix for the ToM “Trunk Error”.
 
The Trunk-Fix-Kit consists of three (3) Smart Eddy boards and a redesigned DC Motor Control board. The Smart Eddy boards replace and improve on the original out lane and trunk detection boards. Using the specially designed DC motor control board, an interconnect cable works with the Trunk Smart Eddy to fix the prevalent and annoying lock-up problem in ToM's game firmware.
 
TRUNK-LOCKUP
The Theatre of Magic game has a bug in its firmware, resulting in the trunk entering a safety lockout state randomly when a trunk hit is detected while it is rotating. This kit rectifies the problem through a combination of the firmware in the Smart Eddy board and an interconnection cable to the DC Motor board. The Smart Eddy installed in the trunk position will suppress ball detections whilst the trunk is in motion.
 
IMPROVED OUT LANE DETECTION 
The Smart Eddy (TPP-1023) provides superior detection of balls in the out-lane, improving the effectiveness of ball saves through the Magna save (hocus-pocus).  The ToM game code does not return balls that are missed by the Magna-save. This can be very frustrating. By improving the reliability and sensitivity of the out-lane ball save, the Smart Eddy is a very popular upgrade for Theatre of Magic owners.
